Home Standby Generator Buying Guide
Peace of mind for your home and family.
Power outages are unpredictable. A home standby generator automatically keeps your essential systems running, so you can stay comfortable, safe and connected.
Here is how buying a home standby generator works, from your first call to years of reliable service.
Buying a Home Standby Generator
-
Step 1: Contact a qualified electrician
Your electrician will evaluate your home, determine the proper generator and transfer switch size, assess fuel requirements (natural gas or propane), and provide an installation proposal.
-
Step 2: Review your options
Work with your electrician to determine your power needs, fuel source, preferred location and any permitting requirements. They will help you choose the right system for your home.
