History

San Luis Powerhouse was established in 1972 and was owned and operated by Russ & Sue Kimmell from 1976-2022. In September 2022 the Kimmell’s sold San Luis Powerhouse to longtime employee Bill Wimmer and his wife Amber who still operate out of the same location at 798 Francis Ave. in San Luis Obispo, California. San Luis Powerhouse has established a reputation as experts in their field, with a team of incredibly talented service technicians and top-notch customer service. In addition to servicing portable generators and private residential generators we have serviced hundreds of businesses across four counties including:

Services

We service, maintain and repair all makes and models of generators including Cummins/Onan, Kohler, Generac, Kubota and Honda and more.

We offer “Maintenance Service” contracts to our clients which ensures they are regularly on our schedule for maintenance and repair. Our maintenance service contract clients also have access to our 24/7 emergency response technicians to increase their peace of mind. Our technicians are continuously trained in the newest emergency back-up technology. Our priority is to keep your home and business operational when your power fails.
